Your wedding album should be as unique and special as your wedding day. Wedding photojournalism captures your special day as it happens. This gives your wedding and your photographs a natural, story-telling feel which will surprise and delight you. A wedding is so much more than poses in front of the altar, the toast, or the bouquet toss, it is all the emotion, movement, and beauty which begs to be remembered.
You can expect your photographs to be different than what is presented by many wedding photographers because they're shot from the same perspective. With art and photojournalism being the core of my wedding photography, rather than sit-and-pose, the photographs will be more about you.
Page after page, print after print, of "say cheese" photographs is not what your special day together in Holy Matrimony is about. It is about the ebb and flow of the day and rollercoaster of joyous emotions of the first chapter of your lives together. You, together with family and friends, is what you want to remember.
Quality
EquipmentFrom the inside of a dim cathedral to the midday sun, professional equipment can mean the difference between getting the photograph or missing it. Great photographers and photojournalists know all too well the importance of having the reliability, quality, and robustness only professional cameras and lenses can provide.
I use Canon's professional digital SLRs coupled with Canon's famous "L" series professional lenses. The Canon brand is trusted by professionals to deliver extremely high image quality in more situations than any other brand. The image quality resulting from Canon EOS digital SLRs and Canon L series lens is exactly what should be present in your wedding.
Post-ProductionYour memories aren't going to be handed off to a lab technician who may not care as much as the photographer. All your photographs are edited, optimized, and retouched by me — one by one — ensuring high quality. Each image is repeatedly scrutinized so that you are presented a set which captures the beauty and dynamics of your day.
PrintsYou should not sacrifice when it comes to the preservation of your memories. All your photographs will be on Kodak Professional SUPRA ENDURA paper. Unlike non-professional papers, your professional prints will be sharper, more vivid, and last a lifetime.
Professionalism
ReverenceMy work with The Florida Catholic, Inc. has enabled me to work closely with churches and their clergy in learning how to respect holy places. This knowledge and respect puts everyone, including the priest/minister, at ease and be able to focus on his task.
The result is better, more natural photographs because the ceremony is not interrupted by a photographer getting scolded for his faux-pas. Ignorance is not an excuse for your wedding to be interrupted.
Actual PhotojournalistYou are not just getting a particular "style" of photography. You are getting a professional, consistently published photojournalist. Providing quality photographs in situations that cannot be repeated is what I have been doing since 2003. From local news to the Pope, I have been hard at work capturing the fleeting moments of the world.
On Location,Many wedding ceremonies run on tight schedules, especially at popular venues. On a wedding day, only the bride is allowed to be late. For the photographer, being on time is not enough. Too many things can change five minutes before and if your photographer is not there, how will they know?
It is my policy to be present at least 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of your wedding photography.
FunWhy so serious?
I encourage you to have a lot of fun, be silly, be yourselves. The more you are you, the better your photographs will be. Formals are nice, but perhaps the most memorable photograph is where your husband or wife is doing that "thing" they always do.
Where I Serve
I am a Miami-based photographer. However, I am willing to travel wherever you need me. Some weddings happen in other cities, states, or even countries. My experience in photojournalism enables me to make memories wherever they may happen.*
This gives you the flexibility of using your entire world as the setting for your photographs. So, whether your special day is close to home or a world apart you can be confident you have a photogtapher that can be there.
Some wedding photographers will not travel outside their "home base" — I will. From your backyard ceremony to the steps of the Vatican, from your local church to the beach, I'm waiting to make those memories with you.
